Overview

Join us at Newlands Corner to improve the easier access trail we laid in March.

The Yew Tree Project, which saw a boardwalk installed around number of veteran yew trees at Newlands Corner has successfully improved the health of many of the ancient trees onsite.

These trees which have stood for more than a thousand years, can now be enjoyed up close without damaging their fragile roots – except for those with limited mobility who cannot reach the boardwalk.

The Surrey Hills Society, working with the council and Albury Estate, is working to fix this omission by laying an accessible path that will provide the missing link between the carpark and boardwalk.

In March, we laid 100m of path to improve the access to the boardwalk. Join us in improving this path further by adding a fine topping which will fill in the gaps around the stones creating a smoother path.
