The Quality and Patient Safety team is thrilled to be hosting a Patient Safety Learning Event on 31st October 2019 in the Education Centre at Homerton Hospital. The event is free for staff and will be a great opportunity for staff from all bands, professions and specialties to get together to talk and learn and share ideas around improving patient safety. We want to encourage as many frontline staff to attend as possible.The event will be a mix of talks from internal and external speakers who will be presenting some of the latest ideas around safety, including human factors, safety 1 vs safety 2, and most importantly, safety from the patient perspective. We will be showcasing some of the amazing work that has gone on at the Homerton over the past few years, and the event will culminate in the first Homerton Improving Patient Safety Awards. Watch this space for details of the categories and how to nominate a project or team!There will also be a number of information stalls on the day, so you can come and talk to experts on a range of topics including Datix and the Action Card App.Patient Safety is about so much more than reporting incidents on Datix (although that is the very foundation of what we do so please keep doing that!) We hope that this event will get people thinking about safety in different ways, and will leave them full of exciting ideas to take back to their teams.
