Master the art of garment construction in this focused two-stage course. From establishing a perfect fit to advanced style manipulation, you will gain the technical skills needed to bring your unique fashion visions to life.

Stage 1: The Foundation Block

Create a professional "Master Pattern" as your design foundation:

Drafting the Block: Produce a two-piece block for non-stretch skirts and tops that can combine into a dress.

Personalised Fit: Learn to trace a base size and adjust measurements to a physical body.

The Master Pattern: Construct a "Toile" (prototype) to correct fit issues, then transfer the shape to card for a permanent master pattern.

Stage 2: Developing the Silhouette

Move into creative reshaping and technical styling once your foundation is secured:

Creative Reshaping: Discover how to re-style your block using fundamental manipulation methods.

Technical Details: Master techniques including Darts & Seams, Yokes & Gathers, and Pleats & Flounces to add character and volume.

Ability: Ideal for advancing your sewing hobby. You must have previously made a basic skirt, top, or dress to understand garment construction.

What’s Included: All materials provided—just turn up and get started.

Note: This is a pattern-based course; sewing is limited to the basic toile.

We are able to provide credit / transfer onto another course or workshop if there is two or more weeks’ notice.

Within a two-week period, under no circumstances can we transfer you onto another event. We have incurred material costs & committed numbers to the tutor.
