This creative workshop will explore the Textile Fabrics of India Archive held at the University of Huddersfield offering you the opportunity

In 1866 the Secretary of State for India presented to Huddersfield Mechanics&#x27; Institution a set of 18 volumes containing 700 working samples of cotton, silk and woollen textiles obtained from different parts of India. The samples were prepared with the purpose of exhibiting to English merchants and manufacturers interested in the Indian trade specimens of all the important textile materials used by the people of India. This creative workshop will explore the collection samples offering you the opportunity to create your own response to these wonderful patternsPleae note this is a day long workshop, please bring your lunch with you. This event will take place in Huddersfield Art Gallery&#x27;s temporary space in the Piazza Shopping Centre in Huddersfield. While the venue itself is wheelchair accessible, please note that there are no accessible toilets within the building.
