The Patterns of Migration: Talking Textiles workshops explore clothing and textiles to tell stories of identity, migration, home and belonging. In collaboration with the internationally renowned Gawthorpe Textile Collection and the artist-led organisation <a href="http://www.manasamitra.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Manasamitra</a>, the workshops will take us on journeys from the Northwest of England and across the globe, through a combination of craft making, music, storytelling and sound.Participants can take part in one, or both workshopsWorkshop 1 Saturday 13th - November 2021 - 10am -1pmWorkshop 2 Saturday 20th - November 2021 – 10am -1pmVenue: Valley Community CentreValley Street Community Centre, Valley Street, Burnley, BB11 5LZ

Travelling to Valley Street: By car: There is a small car park for approximately 8 cars and roadside parking. By bus: Catch the 1 bus from Burnley Bus Station and get off at Harold Street, Valley Street is just across the road. By train: Rose Grove station on Northern Rail is the nearest train station: Rose Grove station, Rose Grove Lane, Rose Grove, Lancashire, BB12 6EH. Valley Street Community Centre is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the station.Patterns of Migration is supported by UCLan Research Centre for Migration, Diaspora and Exile (MIDEX) in collaboration with Gawthorpe Textiles Collection.
