We will be in touch with ticket-holders and will update this event listing as soon as an alternate date has been confirmed.***Peculiar is hosted by the Royal College of Science Union, with support from Imperial College's Faculty of Natural Sciences, and features:Ig Nobel Awards Tour Show: Now in its 15th year at Imperial, this is a show that seeks to make you laugh, then make you think. The show is hosted by Ig Nobel founder Marc Abrahams, who will be joined on stage by Ig Nobel winners Silvano Gallus (evidence that pizza might protect against illness and death, if the pizza is made and eaten in Italy), Francis McGlone (the pleasurability of scratching an itch), and Minna Lyons (a new study: Referee Height Influences Decision Making in British Football Leagues. BAHFest is a celebration of well-argued and thoroughly researched but completely incorrect scientific theory. Our brave speakers present their bad theories in front of a live audience and a panel of judges with real science credentials, who together determine who takes home the coveted BAHFest trophy. And eternal glory, of course. For clips from past shows, and bios of this year's judges, check out <a href="http://bahfest.com/london2020/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">bahfest.com/london2020/</a><a href="http://london.bahfest.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>.Where and When: Both shows will take place in the Great Hall of Imperial College, in the Sherfield Building (<a href="https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-college/visit/public/SouthKensingtonCampus.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">campus map</a>). The Ig Nobel show will start at 16:00 (doors open from 15:30) and will finish by 17:30. There will then be an intermission. BAHFest will start at 19:00, (doors open from 18:30) and will finish by 20:30. After the show (as well as during the intermission), the bar downstairs from the venue will be open for attendees. There will also be a post-show book signing with BAHFest host Zach Weinersmith.The venue is accessible, and any attendees requiring a wheelchair space should inform the organisers to we can ensure this is available.
