Synergy, Fascia, and the Kinetic Chain: A Hands-On Workshop for Therapists
Synergy and the kinetic chain are fundamental in understanding how the human body moves and why injuries occur. Synergy refers to the seamless collaboration between muscles, fascia, and joints to produce smooth, coordinated movement. Fascia, often called the body's secondary muscle system, plays a critical role in this process. It connects, stabilizes, and transmits forces throughout the body, enhancing strength and efficiency when working in harmony with muscles.
When synergy within the kinetic chain is disrupted—due to imbalances, poor posture, or fascia dysfunction—it can result in common issues like back pain, shin splints, hamstring and glute injuries, groin strains, hip problems, sciatica, and calf pain. In sports like football, for instance, hamstring injuries have risen due to the increased intensity of play and overload in the kinetic chain.
This hands-on workshop is designed for massage and physiotherapists looking to expand their skills. Participants will learn practical techniques to restore abdominal synergy, improve fascia mobility, and optimize the kinetic chain. Through targeted interventions, we’ll address the root causes of these conditions, providing therapists with the tools to treat injuries effectively and prevent recurrence.
