What is the South Bank Ignite Competition?

An ideas and start up competition that is open to all LSBU students and recent graduates. With total cash prizes of £5,000 and loads more support up for grabs!

What sort of ideas is the Competition open to?

We are looking for viable solutions to real problems, with motivated individuals driving them. This could be a seed of an idea you have, a business you already run, or maybe you are a freelancer/self-employed..... Or even something else, we want to hear from you!

I’m not sure whether my idea is right for the South Bank Ignite Competition?

This competition is open to all ideas, businesses, and freelancers. If your idea is tackling a real problem, then this competition is your chance to get it out there and start talking about it!

Why should I come to this session? What’s the purpose?

Accepted Answer

This session is for any LSBU student or recent alum with an idea or business. Do you need tips or advice on how to pitch your solution to a real-world problem? Do you want feedback on your pitch? Do you need space to record your pitch? We’ve got it all covered.

Who is this session open to?

Accepted Answer

This session is for any LSBU student or recent alum with an idea or business regardless of where you are in developing that solution to a real-world problem. We’ll help you with pitch tips and advice plus give you the opportunity to practice or record your pitch.

Do I have to come to the whole session?

Accepted Answer

Nope! Drop in (or out) of this workshop based on your schedule and your needs. Come for just the pitching tips and advice. Or come for just the recording time. Or stay for all of it!

What other support can I get for my South Bank Ignite Competition application?

We have two of these sessions scheduled: March 16 and 21. Swing by either (or both) session/s. For more help or advice, email studententerprise@lsbu.ac.uk.

LSBU Student Enterprise inspires students and grads to grow their skills, take opportunities and shape their futures. We offer free events, activities, and programmes to support LSBU students, grads, and community members with employment, self-employment or to start their own business.

I am not a student or alumni of LSBU. Can I still attend this event?
