Fourth Peterborough Coding Evening - the event will be held on 15th March 2016.

***NEWS FLASH*** We now have the BACK ROOM of The Brewery Tap and so will have two lightning talks (lasting no longer than 5m each) on the evening***

If you didn't attend our previous events you can expect a relaxed and informal event at which experienced and inexperienced teachers/TA's and other community members can discuss and share ideas, projects and good practice for the new curriculum.

We now have developers from the community attending and at the last event we had Arduino, Minecraft, Sense Hats for Pi and a Leap Motion on display with opportunities for all to get hands on with the kit! We also had a quick lightening talk from Ben at the Pi Foundation and hope to include more of these in future.

"The enthusiasm of the event holder for KS3 Computing was infectious. She was full of ideas and very helpful in seeking solutions to help getting students especially girls engaged in computing."

It would be great if those who are experienced could come along and offer support and share ideas to those less experienced but equally if those people who are feeling less confident would like to meet with a supportive and relaxed bunch of people to get ideas and help then it would be great to see them too. The hope is that everyone goes away with something they can use and a support network between us all. This time we would really love to have even teachers and TA's to share resources and developers to provide support and ideas!

It would be equally great if people could bring along projects they have worked on that have been particularly successful and some of our first time round attendees will hopefully be bringing something along from the last session but also please do bring anything you need a bit of help getting up and running or something you would like to test out but please feel free to come just to gather with like-minded people for some food and drink!

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Parking is available in the Multi Storey opposite the venue. There is also an NCP carpark opposite the venue and from 6pm parking is available at the back of the venue.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Bring whatever you like!!! You can turn up with 10 Makey-Makeys and fifteen Raspberry Pi's, just a laptop with a prject on it or a scheme of work or you can turn up empty handed with just an open mind about gaining some resources and support or to offer support!
