Peterloo 2019 Network Meeting
Join us on Thursday 10 October 2019, either at 2.00pm – 4.00pm or 6.00pm – 7.30pm
Suitable for ages 16+
In 2019, Greater Manchester commemorated the 200th anniversary of the Peterloo Massacre, a watershed event when cavalry charged to disperse a crowd of 60,000 - 80,000 people in St Peter's Field, Manchester. People had gathered to demand voting reform and improved economic conditions for working people, and the attempt to break up the meeting led to the death of 18 people and injuries to over 600.
In October we will hold the final Peterloo 2019 Network meeting to reflect on the programme of events and activities which took place. Come along to this end of project celebratory gathering and meet individuals and organisations from across the city who have helped shape the Peterloo Massacre bicentenary commemorations of 2019, presented in partnership with Manchester Histories.
