What happened at Peterloo? Join us as part of the #MustSeePeterloo week of activity, at PHM and Manchester Cathedral, to mark the anniversary of the Manchester massacre and uncover the stories of a defining day for Britain’s democracy.


  • 10.30am – 11.15am: take a guided tour of the main galleries with Dr Bob Dinn from the museum’s Visitor Experience Team and discover rare artefacts from the time, including the Peterloo cane


  • 11.15am – 1.00pm: drop in to the archive and delve into PHM’s incredible collection, including original newspapers covering the 1820 trial of Henry Hunt, the radical speaker thousands marched to hear at Peterloo


Suitable for 16+ (under 18s must have an accompanying adult).
