LAFZ Magazine and ISRA Books are privileged to present a Qawwali tour of major cities in England to celebrate the launch of a new book, the translation into English of works by the great poet, Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The book contains 12 poems translated into English, together with the original Urdu text transliterated into the Roman alphabet, and is the work of the world’s greatest living authority on the poet, Professor M. S. Baqa. The poems will be performed in their original language by the well-known Qawwali group, the Hussain Brothers Ensemble. (Qawwali is a highly rhythmic, traditional form of Sufi Music found throughout India and Pakistan.)
The talented artists come from a distinguished ancestry, representing both the Ramur and Bhindi Bazargharanas, who have been practicing the art of Qawwali for at least five generations. The tour will be a series of events at major concert halls in Birmingham, Bradford, London, and Manchester, commencing in on 29th of October in Manchester and ending on the 1stof December in Bradford. The London event will be on the 19th November at Kensington Town Hall.
As with earlier events produced by LAFZ Magazine and ISRA Books, we have tried to keep ticket prices as low as possible to enable everyone to attend.
Please note that purchasing tickets on Eventbrite is only for the London event, for other venues - please visit our facebook page or email us with any queries.
