Phanto Spectra is a timed, immersive audio experience.

On the banks of the River Nith, something has surfaced...

A sound and spectral anomaly has washed ashore – carrying with it fragments of memory, dream and whispered recollection. As Midwinter settles over the river, traces of a fair long vanished begin to rise from the haze: voices, lights and stories that refuse to stay submerged.

The Phanto Spectra invites you on an intimate journey through time, place and imagination. Inspired by the ghost-illusion shows once brought to Dumfries by the Biddall and Codona families in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this immersive experience rekindles the wonder of the town’s Rood and Spring Fairs – traditions woven deep into the cultural life of Dumfries.

Combining groundbreaking technology, atmospheric installation and theatrical sleight-of-hand, the Phanto Spectra dissolves the boundary between reality and apparition.

An encounter that is personal, spellbinding and impossible to forget.

Each ticket reserves one spirit box.
You only need to book ONE ticket, whether you are attending solo or with one partner.
Please do not book two tickets for a pair.

Arrival, Sign-In & Introduction

• Please arrive 10 minutes before your booked time slot.
• All participants must sign in and receive a short introduction before beginning the experience.
• Sign-in location:

• Late arrivals may not be able to take part if their slot has already started.
  

Important Information

• A maximum of two participants may share one spirit box.
• The experience itself takes place within the Mill Green area, a short walk from the sign-in point.
• Due to the time of year and weather conditions, the ground may be muddy, uneven, or slippery.
• Sturdy footwear is essential (e.g. walking shoes or wellies).
• The experience lasts approximately 45 minutes.
