This lecture will take place face-to-face on the University of Liverpool campus. Please book one ticket per person if you wish to attend. We also expect to provide a simultaneous live stream. Please book one ticket per Zoom connection. In this talk, we will explore the links between Fibonacci’s sequence and the golden ratio, and the irrational but clever way in which some plants grow. We will take in some history, some continued fractions, some geometry and some algebra. <a href="https://ciapps.csuci.edu/FacultyBios/FacultyBiography/Details/148" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>Damian Haigh is Headteacher at the University of Liverpool Maths School. He is the serving President of the Liverpool Mathematical Society and this is his Presidential Lecture.
