Event description

Description

Join us for convivial conversations around philosophy and life at Leaf and Groove on the final Wednesday of every month. There will be a bar available during the evening where you can purchase soft drinks, wine, beer and gin. Drinking and thinking with new friends.

After our January event where we discussed started with Heraclitus' thought experiment, 'can you step in the same river twice?', which led us on to a whole range of topics including free will, Brexit (can you step in the same referendum twice?) and old age, we will now turn to Socrates for our second session.

Socrates turned the microscope from the world that the pre-Socratics studied, inward to human action and thought. He is considered to be the first moral philosopher, who gathered in the marketplace to ask / annoy people about justice, beauty, truth and knowledge (amongst other things). He annoyed people so much he was evenutally put to death by vote of his peers for corrupting the youth.

Come and find out more about him through conversations and content presented by The Philosophy Foundation's co-founder and co-CEO Peter Worley.

The bar / lounge SubPlot57 is underneath Leaf and Groove and unfortunately there is no step free access.

Ilustration by the amazing Tamar Levi.
