Are you haunted by past pitches that vanished without a trace, or looking to get guidance from a fellow PR practitioner? Working with a PR agency, but the results are limited, and you're wondering what's really happening behind the scenes? This is the media pitching masterclass for you.
Join me on Thursday, 29 January 2026 for an online earned media pitching masterclass with an individual follow-up 1-2-1 session.
The Pitch Craft for Press Coverage media pitching masterclass is a highly practical workshop designed to transform your pitching skills. Join our small, supportive group and let strategic PR expert Ellen Carroll guide you out of the shadows. We'll demystify the craft of media pitching and give you the confidence to secure coverage that gets your story heard.
This workshop is for:
- Pitching newbies who find the whole process a bit, well... petrifying.
- In-house PR, Comms, or Marketing practitioners feeling out of their depth, out of practice, daunted by the pitching process, or wanting to secure better results.
- Business founders or leaders ready to unearth their story, understand how to pitch and secure great coverage, thought leadership, and earned media opportunities.
This isn't just a workshop; it's a very practical media pitching transformation
We don't just talk theory. Our three-step process will leave you with a powerful pitch and the confidence to use it, and the skills to secure strong media coverage.
Step 1: Pre-Masterclass preparation. Once you book, we'll send you a media pitching questionnaire. This helps you start drafting a real-life pitch or get support/feedback on a pitch, and helps us to understand what support you need.
Step 2: The Masterclass. Join Ellen and a maximum of 7 other participants for a live, interactive, and highly practical session. We'll go through all the basics of media pitching, dissect what makes a pitch irresistible, build your confidence, and help you build your story and confidence. There is a Q&A with plenty of time to ask questions.
Step 3: One-to-one bespoke guidance. This is where the real media pitching support happens. After the workshop, you'll refine your pitch or work on a new one and then submit it for private, expert feedback directly from Ellen.
PLUS, YOU'LL JOIN ELLEN FOR A PRIVATE 1-2-1 VIDEO CALL. This is your chance to pick my brains, brainstorm ideas, and get personal support to help with your pitch, story, and media relations strategy.
The Pitch Craft for Press Coverage Masterclass covers how to:
Craft your hook: Find the irresistible angle and hooks that make your pitches shine.
Build a killer subject Line: Learn how to craft and structure your pitch and the importance of the subject line.
Build trusted relationships: Build strong, long-lasting relationships with the media and build your reputation.
Pitch structure: Create a pitch that's clear, concise, and compelling.
Banish pitching fear: Gain the confidence to follow up, build relationships, and handle rejection.
Amplify your success: Learn what to do after you've landed coverage to maximise its impact.
Celebrate your wins: You’ll be invited to our private community to share your successes.
We’ll also look at the value of earned press coverage, AI in pitching (it’s a no for pitching, but so so useful for lots of other things), tips on social media pitching, and lots more besides.
