Bandana TewarI- Slow Fashion and Artisan Economy Bandana takes a holistic look into the need to elevate artisan skills, our role as consumers, our role as creators and how slowing down can sustain the artisan market. Bandana Tewari is the columnist for Business of Fashion. Formerly the editor-at-large as well as the fashion features director of Vogue India for 13 years, Bandana left to dedicate her time to advocating for change in the fashion industry.2. Brands Stories - Jake Orak , Ethnotek Bags &amp; Rebecca Manners - Ethnotek founder Jake Orak shares on his brand&#x27;s innovative supply chain model, unique product design and global distribution network that he created from the ground up. Ethnotek collaborates with artisans in five countries around the world to combine their traditional handmade textiles with high-tech waterproof laptop &amp; camera bags. - Bex shares her brand journey from leaving fast fashion to take a new creative path of authenticity and collaboration. She works on the ground both in Indonesia and Myanmar searching for Master Goldsmiths, looking for innovative solutions to preserve cultural heritage whilst keeping ancient jewellery techniques alive. Her brand Rebecca Manners currently supports over 30 artisan communities. 3. From the Field What does sustainability mean before, during and after a garment is made? Three different experts share their view working on the ground in slow fashion, from sourcing, manufacturing to environmental compliance. - Independent, ethical sourcing agency The Bali Curator shares her top tips working and sourcing with local producers in Bali, from intercultural understanding to work ethic.- Local garment factory manager Natali Tjahjadi, give an inside view on some of the challenges running a factory, what motivates her to work towards producing sustainably and how customers can help create change.- Marina Chahboune is a closed loop specialist and shares on circular design and putting circular principles into practice.

ABOUT Pivot Bali is an online forum focused on holistic sustainable change in the fashion industry , elevating artisan economy and innovation. The current Program takes a close look at slow fashion and artisan economy, and features contemporary artisan products. We ask how can we change to effectively support artisans and value their skills? Why is slow design important? And how can slow fashion and consumption sustain and evolve tradition in a contemporary market?

COMING UP: Exhibition : Origins- Crafted Traditions (Opening mid June) "Origins" celebrates the significance and skill of traditional Indonesian artisans. View a handpicked selection of works by Indonesian jewellers and textile artists. The exhibition explores cultural significance, techniques and identity.Exhibition curated by Fiona Caripis (Kaji Mundo) with Threads of Life Gallery, Meet the Makers and Rebecca Manners Bespoke. IMPACT We have partnered with Meet the Makers Indonesia to direct a portion of funds from our ticket sales to artisans in need of emergency support. You participation also helps us to be able to continue to run our sustainability programs.
