Black history as science fiction, the blockbusting 'Planet of the Apes' films/tv series have many elements which echo real human and civil rights struggles all over the world. Many viewers have consumed these movies and, like the Matrix, not been aware of the coded messages and specific black history references in these films. Over these two sessions, 18th and 25th September, we will analyse and demonstrate;the double meaning in specific scenes, unveil the hidden agendas, show political quotes from the writers,actors and directors and show the black history references that are in plain sight. We will cover:

• Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
• Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)
• War for the Planet of the Apes 2017
• Rod Serling, Zanuck and 1968 America
• The original 1970's Apes movies, comics and TV series
• The Vietnam and Congo connection
• The Arms Race and Race Wars. Watts rebellion 1965
• The Malcolm X connection
• Viruses on film and in reality
• Real life medical experiments on the Black community

About the breakdowns and the speaker:

Since 1994, Andrew Muhammad has been conducting history tours nationwide and internationally to Egypt, Tunisia, Ireland and Spain. Andrew has also designed what is widely known as the ‘Hidden Truth Movie Breakdown’. This delivery is based on the Chinese proverb that a picture paints a thousand words.

The movie industry has perfected the art of using signs and symbols to convey many hidden truths to a very unsuspecting and susceptible audience. This type of communication was first invented in Kemet (Egypt) and was used throughout their society. Many Hollywood blockbuster films and cartoons such as The Matrix and Lion King contain secrets that will amaze the viewers.
