Event description

Description

Wednesday 14 February / 6.30pm / The Box / £4/£3, booking required

Filmmaker Sandi Hughes presents Planet Tumbleweed, a film challenging the notion of equality in Liverpool. This film archive captures her own experiences of racism, homophobia and sexism, whilst also offering a voice to female pioneers who have personally inspired the filmmaker, but whom are under-represented and overlooked in society.

The film shows a ’collective memory’ from one generation to the next, offering essential tools of emotional and moral qualities through it's exploration of personal histories and narratives, its aim to influence and educate our communities to move Liverpool’s cultures forward.

Following the screening, join Sandi and invited guests for a discussion exploring the themes of the film.
