PLANKTON TRAINING with Maya RonchettiWED 10 APRIL, 14.00 - 15.30, The Engine Room, The Exchange, TR18 2NLChildren workshop suitable for 6 to 11 year olds. Inspired by the popular Beaver Training, Maya Ronchetti developed a new workshop especially for you - Plankton Training!Learn about the great role that these tiny organisms play in our oceans. Through experiments with chalk, paper, cyanotype photography and working with recycled materials, we will explore the shape, purpose and lifestyle of plankton.In this interactive, playful workshop, children will leave inspired by the tiniest of the oceans' organisms. They will understand the difference between Phytoplankton and Zooplankton, plus, gain an understanding of why they are so important.£8 per child, places limited.Please wear old clothes as we will get messy! This workshop is led by <a href="https://www.maya-ronchetti.com/" title="https://www.maya-ronchetti.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Maya Ronchetti</a>, a Cornwall based artist often working with natural materials. Maya also works as a teaching assistant in a Cornish School and has enjoyed running craft workshops each year at festivals such as Tropical Pressure. She believes in the importance of creativity in children's lives, especially if it draws them closer to nature. Participant and parent feedback from Maya's Beaver Training workshop:‘[My grandaughter] absolutely loved the course, she impressed me with the amount she learnt about beavers and with her beautiful artwork. She is still wearing her necklace that she was awarded for becoming a fully qualified beaver and has taken it to school to show her teacher.’ ‘[The children] loved Beaver Training. They were super proud of their clay lodges and drawings, and loved their medals made from the wood that had been chewed by the beavers!' 'It was amazing! My favourite bit was examining the wood for marks of Beavers. I liked making my clay lodge. You could go wild with the clay! I’m speechless about it all, as it was so good!' 'It was very good. I loved making my clay lodge and learning about how Beaver’s make chimneys. I would definitely go again!' ‘We were really happy and impressed with the workshop yesterday.
