Planning For Success: Taking the team with you

Overview

Build plans that people believe in – by involving them in the process.

Strong leaders don’t plan in isolation. They bring people into the process, give clarity without micromanaging, and use feedback to keep improving.

This practical masterclass will help you design plans that don’t just look good on paper but drive real ownership, accountability and results on the ground. Across two interactive sessions, you’ll explore how to engage your team early, clarify who is doing what (and why), and build a feedback culture that turns every project into a learning opportunity.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Move from “planning for” to “planning with” your team
  • Delegate outcomes clearly without slipping into micromanagement or abdication
  • Use RACI to remove confusion, duplication and bottlenecks
  • Create simple communication rhythms that keep everyone aligned
  • Build a feedback-rich culture where people feel safe to speak up
  • Run learning reviews so every project feeds into better planning next time

Key skills: outcome-based delegation, RACI, inclusive planning, feedback culture, learning reviews, communication rhythms.

You’ll walk away with:

  • A RACI template and quick-start guide you can apply immediately
  • A Delegation Planner (what, why, to whom, and how to follow up)
  • Feedback invitation phrases to encourage honest input
  • A checklist for inclusive planning conversations
  • A retrospective / team review template to build into your regular practice

You’ll leave with practical tools, clearer language for planning with your team, and the confidence to lead planning in a more inclusive, outcomes-focused way.

This Masterclass is supported by London South Bank University (LSBU), and delivered by LSBU Business School.
