Planning for the Future Event for parents of young people with SEND

Managing finance, wills and trusts, independent living, social care and more

PCAN is holding this event as we get so many enquiries from local families about future planning, beyond education. It is not a careers event but aims to support parents and carers with a lot of the queries they have about:

• Finance - managing someone's money, wills and trusts and so on
• Deputyship
• Benefits
• Building independence
• Housing/living options
• Support with independence
• Transition to adult social care
• Mental capacity and best interests
• Support with health and mental heatlh issues
• What you can tap into locally to help you make plans

The event will be a mix of workshops you can attend as well as having the opportunity to talk to a range of different providers and get advice and support.
