Plant-based Baking

The Dusty Knuckle is one of London's leading sourdough bakeries, providing freshly baked bread and pastries to some of the city's best restaurants, cafes and shops. Opened in 2014 in an empty shipping container, the bakery has now moved into a permanent space with a buzzing cafe offering world-class sandwiches. The bakery also works with disadvantaged youth by providing training in the bakery with the aim of offering legitimate employment opportunities. The bakery school opened in February 2019 in the container units, and teaches a range of bread, pastry, cooking and fermentation classes. Our classes are taught by highly experienced bakers with a passion for the classroom.

There have never been more reasons to embrace plant-based baking. So get ready to go green by letting us introduce you to the world of plant-based baking in this evening class at The Dusty Knuckle Bakery School. In this baking class taught by the incredible plant-based <a href="https://www.heylovelybuns.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lovely Buns</a>, we'll show you how to use aquafaba, an essential ingredient in any plant-based kitchen. You'll also learn how to make a dark chocolate and sea salt cookie that blasts away average alternatives. There is a chai-spiced rye loaf that uses a range of wholegrain flours, the best winter's treat. And finally, we will make plant-based scones using nutritional yeast.This class is perfect for anyone interested in plant-based and vegan cuisine or looking to expand their baking knowledge. A vegan dinner and drinks will be provided. We ask that students arrive fifteen minutes early and let us know well in advance of any dietary requirements at bakeryschool@thedustyknuckle.com
