Join artist Poppy Keating to create artworks using plaster casting

5 weeks of art workshops inspired by parks and rivers of Ilford followed by 1 week of community exhibition showcasing work made by public and artists on the programme

<p>We will work together to be inspired by the shapes and forms in the Re-wild public exhibition and create artworks together using the method of plaster casting</p><p>All materials provided. Open to all ages and abilities</p>

<h2>About the Artist</h2><p>Poppy Keating is a multidisciplinary artist and gardener born and  based in London. Her predominantly sculptural practice explores the  porousness of bodies, our disconnection from the natural world, and green spaces on the verge of disappearance due to urban expansion. </p><p>She will be running a plaster tile making workshop using natural materials foraged from green spaces in and around Ilford.</p>

<h2>Re-Wild Project Context</h2><p>This project has been produced and curated by Sheyamali Sudesh, Ilford-based artist and arts programmer as well as curious nature lover.</p><p>They have previously project managed and facilitated art programmes at The Line Art Walk, Tate Modern and Drawing Room Gallery.</p><p>This project has been made possible through funding from Redbridge Council.</p><p></p><h2>Re-Wild</h2><p>These workshops are part of Re-Wild art and ecology engagement project, taking place in Ilford for 6 weeks between 19th August-25th September</p><p>For 5 weeks, artists will research and respond to 5 different green spaces (parks, rivers, forests) in or near Ilford and run art workshops open to all members of the public.</p><p>So do visit and take part in the art workshops!</p><p>All materials provided and open to all ages and abilities.</p><p></p><h2>About the Venue</h2><p>The Ilford Spark Lab is an innovative meanwhile space within Ilford’s Cultural Quarter. The Councils Regeneration team has transformed a vacant shop unit into a creative meanwhile space for local entrepreneurs looking to kick-start their business in the heart of Ilford.</p><p>The team will be supporting successful projects chosen by local stakeholders and young people between May 2022 and April 2023 as part of the Spark Lab residency programme. Each resident of the lab will benefit from the use of this space to showcase their products for a period of 6 weeks and have access to advice and guidance to grow their business from the Business Enterprise Team. This programme is supported by the Mayor of London Good Growth Fund.</p><p>Collaboration, learning, and innovation are the key aspects of our programme.
