Plastics Without Borders: Inside Us
Why plastics matter, what they’re doing inside our bodies, and how we fight back.
Plastics are no longer just an environmental issue — they are a human health one.
Micro- and nano-particles are now being found in our lungs, blood and even placentas, entering our bodies through the products we use, the food we eat and the air we breathe. What was once an invisible external problem is now, quite literally, inside us.
We’ll explore what this shift means, and what comes next. From rethinking everyday materials and consumer choices to the policy, innovation and system-level changes needed to reduce exposure at scale, we ask: how do we fight back?
This is going to be an “all-you-need-to-know” interactive session moderated by Sian Sutherland.
This Earth Set event, hosted in partnership with Blue Earth in the Mother offices in Shoreditch, is also — for the first time — part of the SXSW London fringe.
