<h3>Synopsis</h3>Play, Code, Reflect: Evolving the Primary Computing Curriculum What if the secret to preparing for the 2027 UK computing curriculum was simply rediscovering the joy of hands-on learning? Explore a practical workshop that encourages creativity using code. We will look at how physical computing can foster a life long love for technology in primary students. Guided by the OECD Learning Compass, we’ll see how interactive, physical challenges develop essential cognitive and meta-cognitive skills like critical thinking and adaptive problem-solving. By immersing our pupils in real-world experimentation, we don't just teach code; we foster habits such as perseverance, collaboration, and a willingness to learn from mistakes. Together, we’ll experiment with a live practical activity, giving you the perfect space to reflect on the current school framework. You’ll leave equipped to review, refine, and develop your primary curriculum, ensuring your students are ready to confidently navigate an increasingly digital world.

<h3>About the speaker</h3>Jane is a qualified teacher and a director of knetic education (<a href="https://knetic.org.uk/" title="https://knetic.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://knetic.org.uk/</a>) providing consultancy to schools seeking to develop the curriculum in practial, engaging ways.
