Event description

Description

For some reason Internet is getting darker, some kind of dark magic forces or ill-minded digital cyborgs or something that we cannot even imagine right now is trying to corrupt and spoil the wonderful and amazing World Wide Web.

Adults have more experience and are resistant to the evil schemes and those subtle villainous actions of the wicked dark forces. That’s why those said dark forces are targeting the younger population – children and teenagers – as they are more susceptible to the bad influence and more likely to trust something that is new to them (not necessarily something good).

The bad news is that our adversaries have an upper hand right now because they have already started their evil campaign and the Internet is getting darker! Children all over the world are at risk of meeting one of the possible dangers at any time now. That’s why they need your help! They want to understand how to avoid the dangerous parts of the web that are already corrupted. Our first action is to prepare the youth for their inevitable encounter with the traps and snares laid all over the internet.

This first step is the most important as it is much easier to avoid the trap then to get out of it after someone has fallen into the trap. You will be our first line of defense against the offensive campaign of the sinister dark forces.

Your mission:

We have to stop the spread of this internet infestation and protect our youth!

Your mission is to create a game that would teach children and teenagers about the threats on the Internet and possible ways on how to avoid them. The whole world will stand beside you in this epic battle.

The Problem:

Youngsters spend a lot of time in front of a screen of a mobile phone or computer browsing the web, chatting and playing games, and there are many dangers that threaten them every day. Here are the main ones:

  • unauthorized access to a device
  • offensive comments
  • someone with a fake photo and personal data wants to communicate through social media
  • asking for money via e-mail
  • buying something online in a fake e-store
  • unwanted photos were made public by someone
  • a stranger invites for a meeting
  • a photo receives insulting comments
  • money are missing from a bank account
  • a stranger wants to send a suspicious file – a “game”
  • by sharing someone is violating copyright law

What we expect from you?

We expect you to participate in the creation of a concept for a game that would act as an educational tool for youngsters. The game would increase their knowledge about internet safety and safe behavior online. A demo version of the game using the Construct 2 platform is to be created.
