Leicester's Art AI Festival is supported by Arts Council England, De Montfort University, Phoenix Leicester & Leicester City Council - it has been developed in partnership with De Montfort University's Institute of Creative Technologies (Prof Tracy Harwood), Phoenix Leicester, Highcross Shopping Centre and Luba Elliott.

PLEA's inventor, Dr Tomislav Stipancic (of University of Zagreb, Croatia), along with Emeritus Prof Duska Rosenberg and Prof Tracy Harwood both of De Montfort University (Leicester), are collaborating on research to explore the potential for PLEA to be used in care settings.We are looking for participants for 4 days of data collection whilst PLEA is live at 72 Church Gate (during February and March). The 4 days the research team will be on site are -<ul><li>Monday 21 Feb 11am-5.30pm - DUE TO STORM FRANKLYN, TODAY'S RESEARCH IS CANCELLED, please book in for Tues/Weds/Thurs instead</li><li>Tuesday 22 Feb 11am-5.30pm</li><li>Weds 23 Feb 11am-5.30pm</li><li>Thurs 24 Feb 11am-5.30pm</li></ul>PLEA is able to communicate only by using its emotional expressions at the present time and we would like your views on how well it communicates its feelings with you. Specifically, the research is attempting to better understand the following issues -<ul><li>your engagement and experiences with PLEA</li><li>your emotional responses to PLEA</li><li>your perceptions of PLEA’s use in social care settings</li></ul>All data collected will be anonymized in our research processes but your participation will be recorded - full details will be provided as you arrive (and of course, if you are not happy, you will be able to withdraw from the resesarch process). A participant information sheet will be emailed to you a couple of days before the research takes place, once you have confirmed your time slot for taking part in the study.We are unable to pay expenses to attend the venue and we are not providing compensation to participants - participation is entirely voluntary. Participation involves a maximum of ONE HOUR of your time, during which you will be given a task that involves communicating with PLEA. This will be followed by an interview about your experience lasting approximately 30 minutes. The research data collection process taking place in Leicester is headed by Prof Tracy Harwood (email tharwood [@] dmu.ac.uk.The research process has been approved by De Montfort University's Ethics Committee.
