Pneumatic Conveying System Design

Dr Atul Sharma joined The Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology in April 2022 as a Consultant Engineer where he specialises in pneumatic conveying systems.He received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master's degree in CAD/CAM Engineering, and PhD in the area of Bulk Solids Handling from India. Prior to joining The Wolfson Centre, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, India. He was also the co-founder of BulkSolids Innovation India Pvt. Ltd., a technology-based spinout company, where he held the post of director from December 2019 to March 2022.

A brief overview of conventional approaches and the latest techniques for designing of reliable and energy efficient pneumatic conveyors

<p>In order to design a reliable pneumatic conveying system, it is essential to predict the pipeline pressure drop accurately. An incorrect estimation of this pressure drop can lead to various operational issues, such as high power consumption, pipeline wear, product degradation, blockages, and insufficient throughput. This webinar aims to delve into some of the more conventional approaches as well as taking a look at the latest techniques used for designing reliable and efficient pneumatic conveying systems. The ultimate goal is to share the recent insights into achieving pipeline designs that function reliably, ensuring the required throughput without unexpected maintenance disruptions or compromising the quality of the handled product.</p><p>Once tickets have sold out through EventBrite, please contact wolfson-enquiries@gre.ac.uk to register.</p>
