Welcome to Our Lighthouse Explorers' Trip to Point of Ayr Lighthouse!
Come along for a picnic and walk on Talacre beach, overlooking the beautiful Point of Ayr lighthouse.
Trip Highlights:
- Scenic Walk: We'll meet at the car park and enjoy a lovely walk along the beach.
- Picnic: BYOP (bring-your-own-picnic) and get to know a group of like-minded people.
- Commemorative Badge: Every Lighthouse Explorers group trip attendee will receive a limited edition badge with the lighthouse we're visiting!
Key Details:
Date & Time: Sunday, 1st June 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (Optional drink at the Lighthouse Inn afterwards!)
Meeting Point: Talacre Beach Car Park
Parking:
- Parking is available at Talacre Beach Car Park, which will be our meeting point.
Public Transport: The nearest train station is Prestatyn Station. From there, you can catch the 11C bus heading toward Holywell. Once you arrive in Holywell, it’s a 20–30-minute walk to Talacre Beach Car Park. Follow signs or use a navigation app to guide you along the walking route. Planning and allowing extra time for connections is recommended.
Important Notes:
- We will not be going inside the lighthouse!
- What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a camera to capture the stunning scenery. Also, please bring your own picnic. There is a café nearby, so if the weather takes a turn for the worse, we'll head there!
