Pointe Black: The Mixtape
See our gala performance for Pointe Black's fifth birthday with the first instalment of the Pointe Black Company's The Mixtape Series.
Pointe Black presents: The Mixtape
Step into an evening of bold, genre-blending performance as Pointe Black launches The Mixtape; a new annual summer gala performance showcasing ballet through culture, music, and movement.
Featuring the Pointe Black Academy, Junior Company, and Senior Company, this professional-led production explores different musical eras and influences, brought to life through a powerful fusion of classical ballet and contemporary storytelling.
The Mixtape is our cultural take on ballet’s traditional “variations”. We wanted to respresent a nostalgic moment of creating playlists, burning CD's and mixing sets.
What to expect:
- A high-quality, professional performance from Pointe Black artists
- Original choreography inspired by diverse musical genres and eras
- A post-show Q&A with Founding Director Ruth Essel and special guests, offering insight into the work, process, and vision behind Pointe Black
This is a celebration of culture, creativity, and showcaing the next generation of ballet. Join us as we redefine ballet for our community.
