Polyamory & Ethical Non-Monogamy: Beginner's Guide + Q&A
– Start your poly journey here!
- Are you new to ENM and wondering, “Could this be for me?”
- Are you and your partner considering opening up your relationship?
- Have you recently embarked on the poly path but feeling a bit lost at sea?
- Are you a people-helping professional – working in coaching, therapy, mental health, social work or education – needing to get more informed about a rapidly growing alternative community?
We’ll start by breaking down the basics, explaining the key terms and types of ethical non-monogamy and polyamory. Not everyone likes labels, of course, but if you're new to ENM, these can be very useful pointers in figuring out which options you resonate with most.
We'll also explore common misperceptions about polyamory, along with the key benefits, biggest challenges and the core principles underpinning it all.
The second part of the session will take the form of a Q&A, so you have an opportunity to ask an experienced and enthusiastic polyamorist questions, such as:
Why do people choose to be polyamorous?
Is it really possible to be in love with more than one person at the same time?
What about jealousy? Does it get easier?
What about weekends, holidays, Xmas and Valentine's Day?
This will be a friendly, informative and interactive session for anyone curious about polyamory. Come and simply listen, if you prefer, or switch your camera on and get involved in the discussion. All welcome!
