Title: DACHA: an overview of the project and the care home trials archiveThe NIHR funded DACHA study (Developing research resources and minimum data set for care homes’ adoption and use) is an ARC East of England supported study being led by the University of Hertfordshire. The four-year project started in November 2019, and is divided into five work packages. DACHA is reviewing how current health and social care systems work and exploring the evidence on how to integrate data and test what a minimum data set (MDS) would need in order to be a key resource for people working in and for care homes. The project also aims to create a repository of individual participant data (IPD) from randomised control trials conducted in adult care homes that will be accessible beyond the DACHA study. This presentation will provide a general overview of all DACHA work packages and then will focus specifically on the development of a care home trials archive (Work Package 2). SpeakersDr. Gizdem Akdur is a research fellow in the NIHR-funded DACHA study (Developing research resources and minimum data set for care homes' adoption and use) since December 2019. Prior to that, she worked as a teaching fellow in the Department of Digital Humanities at King’s College London. Gizdem completed her MSc and PhD at the London School of Economics, under the Information Systems and Innovation Faculty Research Group, and was awarded her BEng (Hons) from the University of Sheffield's Department of Computer Science. Her research interests include health care information systems, technology in care, policy research, ageing studies, and qualitative methods.

Lisa Irvine is a senior research fellow at University of Hertfordshire, and co-leading Work Package 2 on the DACHA study. This involves the development of an archive of individual participant data (IPD) from randomised controlled trials conducted in UK care homes. Lisa is a health economist by background, mainly working on within-trial economic evaluations, including two trials which are included in the care homes archive.
