How do I get to the port?

By car via Lockhill Roundabout (A180), follow directions to the Port, or via Cleethorpes Flyover, taking left exit on to Riby Street and taking the second road on the left Rowlandson Street. This will take you over the railway crossing and you will arrive at the Security Gatehouse on Eastside Road.

Will there be access to the Port on foot?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Entry is via the Security Gatehouse on Eastside Road. Once through the gate, follow the path to the left and the event is immediately in front of you on Auckland Road.

Question 3

I’m booked on a tour, what time will it be?

Accepted Answer

You will have booked on to a specific time through Eventbrite. The time will be printed on the ticket. If you can no longer attend please cancel your ticket.

Question 4

Can I explore the port?

Accepted Answer

The only area of the port open for exploration is the Kasbah - the historic quarter. There will be no access to anywhere outside this location as it an operational port.

Question 5

Will there be food, drink, and amenities on site?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There are two cafes and additional food traders serving refreshments. There are also toilet facilities on site.

Question 6

Can I take photographs on site?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but we ask for you to be mindful when taking photos. Some people may not want to be photographed.

Question 7

Do I have to wear any specific clothing and footwear?

Accepted Answer

We ask for you to wear sensible shoes. The ground is uneven in places. Please also be mindful of the weather and bring waterproofs/sun cream etc. depending on the forecast as some activities are outside.

Question 8

How will I identify volunteers?

Accepted Answer

All volunteers will be wearing an orange or pink hi-vis vest and will be happy to help on the day.

What else is there to do?

Accepted Answer

There are buildings to explore; a marquee with exhibitors and music from local musicians. There will also be talks from different experts. There will also be a seafood cooking demonstration.
