Positive Type Workshop

Ahead of <A HREF="https://www.trappedinzoneone.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Trapped in Zone One</A>'s new exhibition 'Positive Type', we will be hosting a special workshop inviting participants to create their own type based artwork, featuring positive messages to inspire young people.
Positive Type is a collaborative group exhibition in aid of Art Against Knives, supporting and inspiring young people who may have been affected by violence or knife crime.
Our workshop will be run by Fandangoe Kid and involves group discussion about knife crime followed by using your creativity to create a positive and inspiring message piece in response to the issues raised during the workshop.

This workshop is open to all ages and all materials are provided. There is a maximum capacity of 10 for this session, please sign up through Eventbrite or our Facebook page to reserve your space.
About the Artist
The <A HREF="https://www.fandangoekid.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Fandangoe Kid</A> is a graphic artist and a visual storyteller, whose main remit is to smash taboos around complex subject matters such as trauma and traumatic loss, death, mental health and gender politics.

Her large scale murals and installations can be seen across London, Bristol, and NYC. She has worked with young people in inner city London for over a decade, her focus being to encourage them to know themselves better through the creative process.
Her own path as an artist was dramatically reshaped following the loss of almost her entire family in NYC back in 2011, and in her work she additionally seeks to demonstrate the healing force of creativity as a tool for processing trauma and for survival.
Positive Type
Trapped in Zone One presents a collaborative group show, inspiring young people, featuring work from Adam Carter, Alex Cullen, Annahita Hessami, Coma, Curtis Hylton, DD Regalo, Ders, Lana Hughes, Lilly Lou, Millsnic, Tarwane and Werdna.

A percentage of the works sold will be donated to Art Against Knives, to support their community based work in reducing the root causes of knife crime through youth-led creative opportunities.
The exhibition is available to view 25th April - 30th June 2019 at Rotate Shoreditch, 1 Bath Place, Rivington Street, EC2A 3DA
