Poured Candle Making Workshop

The Craft House was established in 2016 in Saltaire by April Chamberlain, who continues to manage the business. Having started in Saltaire, The Craft House is now run from new, larger, premises at 109-111 Main Street, Bingley. We have a lovely ground floor cafe and welcoming workshop spaces on the first floor (reached by stairs with two handrails). We offer a vibrant programme of art, craft and textile workshops and courses for adults, enabling you to develop existing skills as well as try new activities. Working closely with a team of talented artist/maker tutors, we provide expertly-run classes in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. We cater for a range of skill levels, from first-time participants to people with existing skills (including other professional artists and makers looking to develop their techniques). Our emphasis is on encouraging creativity and enjoyment whilst passing on key skills. We also cater for private parties and events - please telephone us or call into the cafe to discuss. Please note that all our events are subject to us achieving minimum booking requirements, as we need to ensure they are commercially viable for our tutors - if we have to cancel an event, we will refund your ticket and give you as much notice as possible.

Create your own candles in your own hand made jesmonite pots in just two hours.

Create your own candles in your own hand made jesmonite pots in just two hours. You’ll learn how to make one marble effect and one terazzo effect pot in your choice of colours. We’ll cover how to sand and finish these off before turning them into candles. You’ll have a choice of different essential oils blends to fill your pot and we'll cover some basic aromatherapy blending theory. You'll learn how to make your own hand poured candles using eco friendly soy wax that’s kind to the environment and your lungs. Everything used in this workshop is vegan friendly. It’s best if the candles are left to set overnight and collected 24 hours later.Cost£30 per person - includes material and equipment usage
