Frequently asked questions

Is this for couples or individuals?

This workshop is for anyone. But if you’re in a couple or are co-parenting then I’d recommend coming together as this is a space to be able to learn more together about your journey

How is this different from antenatal classes?

The focus of this workshop isn’t on the birth. It is on the transition in to parenthood. Therefore although birth may come up, understandably if you’re an expectant parent, we’re more exploring the hopes, expectations, wishes and influences of your parenting journey (so far and for the future)

Why did you create this workshop?

I’ve always found it fascinating to understand people’s experiences of becoming parents in my work as a therapist & social worker. But then becoming a parent myself in 2022 really opened my eyes to how little is talked about around this & how little support there is for this transition

What informs your practice & this workshop?

I’ve been a therapist & social worker for a decade. I take influence from my trainings & experiences to offer thoughtful, personalised sessions and workshops. I specialise in attachment, systemic & mentalization-based approaches. I am Theraplay and trauma-informed. I am LGTBQIA+ and ND inclusive

Is food provided?

Food is not provided but the Old Boat has a lovely cafe which will be open 9-5. Please feel free to come any time to the venue and we will start in the back room at 10:30. Food and drinks can be brought in with you to the workshop.
