Event description

Description

This two-day event will facilitate dialogue and networking to support transition planning for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It will bring together families, educators, researchers, health and social care professionals and policy makers. It will also offer young people a platform for ensuring that their voice informs the future direction of Education, Health and Care Planning.

There will be a different focus for each of the two days:

Day 1: Imagining the Future: International perspectives on developing community access and employability.

Professionals and/or young people from Lithuania, Sweden and the United Kingdom will lead discussion based on their learning from the ‘Imagining the Future’ project, which has been funded by the European Erasmus+ Programme for Education, Youth and Sport. Delegates will encounter a range of innovative approaches for connecting young people with learning difficulties to supported employment and community, and explore insights to support the continuing development of policy. Attendees will takeaway a toolkit of free resources, which will include multimedia case studies, editable presentations, and assessment and evaluation tools.

Day 2: Roadmap for Life: Building meaningful local pathways for youth people with SEND across London and beyond!!

Attendance for both days is funded by Erasmus+, the European Commission programme for education, youth and sport. In order to qualify for this, delegates must be professionals, based in EU member states and complete all the appropriate registers and evaluation forms when they attend (otherwise an invoice for the full cost of their place will be activated) To claim your space email drc@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk

Attendance for Day 2 only is free for young people with SEND and/or family members and £35 for professionals. This is to support running cost.
