What is a "zine"??

A zine ("zeen") is a DIY, self-published work of text and images, usually reproduced on a photocopy machine, often appearing like a booklet. The word comes from the word 'maga-zine' but differs in its DIY nature, cheap or free distribution and aim to connect communities rather than sell consumerism!

What happens at the workshop?

Accepted Answer

We'll explain more about zines and how to make one. There will be free materials and papers to use and a seasoned zinester/community artist on hand to help develop your ideas and answer any questions. You'll have two hours to make whatever you like!

Question 3

Can I bring my own things to include in my zine?

Accepted Answer

Yes! But you don't need to. We'll have everything you need inlcuded at the eventt, but if you'd like to include specific photos or ephemera (old tickets/receipts/packing materials/etc.) or words you've written before, you're more than welcome to bring them along.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Accepted Answer

No, however there will be delicious plant-based food, drinks and cakes available to purchase from Thrive Cafe, where the workshop is taking place. You can see their menu here: https://www.thrivecambridge.com/menu

Is there parking nearby?

Accepted Answer

There is on street parking on Norfolk Street. This is Pay & Display parking, but is free on Sundays!
