Overview

Join us for a day of workshops around HIV, the importance of prevention and testing, including how to support folks living with HIV.

Find us at: Brent Civic Centre – Boardrooms 3 - 5

Join us for this one-time event during National Testing Week in Brent!

Spectra, together with Brent, are co-facilitating a day of workshops aiming to provide information around HIV, the importance of prevention and testing, including how to support folks living with HIV.

We will give you an introduction to HIV/AIDS, addressing the impact of stigma, the importance of testing, as well as prevention methods, such as PrEP, PEP, and condoms. We will then discuss in more detail what support exists for people living with HIV, as well as raise awareness about life with HIV, to further reduce stigma and discrimination within our communities. We will provide concrete examples of positive support for people living with HIV for community members to utilise outside of the workshop.

Our aim is to combat misinformation and to encourage attendees to champion their learning in their day-to-day lives.

You will hear from a representative from the London HIV Prevention Programme (LHPP), a city-wide initiative to reduce new HIV diagnoses and promote sexual health, who will outline where London is in our current efforts to combat HIV and stigma surrounding it.

During the final hour of the event there will be an opportunity for people to network.

Agenda below:
