Preview | Taste and Decency
Join us for the private view of Taste & Decency with Rosie Gibbens, Jann Haworth, Rachel Maclean, Olivia Sterling & Idelle Weber.
Taste and Decency is a group exhibition bringing together pioneering figures of Pop Art alongside a younger generation of contemporary artists.
Spanning sculpture, painting, installation, performance, and digital media, the exhibition examines how consumption, sexuality, social behaviour, and image-making are staged and negotiated across different generations, from the rise of mass advertising and consumer culture in the 1960s to today’s environment of digital performance, self-branding, and algorithmic image circulation.
Through humour, exaggeration, and material transformation, the artists challenge conventions of taste, visibility, decorum, and desire, revealing how identities and bodies continue to be shaped through systems of display and consumption.
