Pride of Place Living is launching a seven part, free workshop programme for Resident Interest Group members and other LGBTQ+ residents in Leeds. The aim is simple. Build the skills for living well in a cohousing community, stay actively involved in the project as it grows, and help shape the first LGBTQ+ affirmative housing scheme in the city.
Our introductory workshop sets the scene. We will explore what it means to live and work in a cohousing community, how neighbours support one another, how decisions are made, and what day to day life could look like once the homes are occupied. You will get a clear overview of the full programme and the skills it supports, including confidence, leadership, communication, and practical community skills that transfer to work and life. We will also check your availability and preferences so future workshop dates suit as many people as possible.
You will hear how to stay connected to the site and the development process as it progresses, with regular updates and simple ways to take part between sessions. Whether you are already part of the Resident Interest Group or you are just starting to get involved, you are very welcome.
Free to attend. Open to all LGBTQ+ residents in Leeds!
