Printmaking Workshop: Seedhead Cards Key InformationEvent lead: Kate Miller (Gosforth Nature Reserve Artist in Residence) Event length: Tuesday 21 April, 10:30 - 12:30 Meet at: Gosforth Nature Reserve Field Studies Room Event cost: NHSN Members £35, Non-members £40 About this EventJoin us for a creative, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to make your own linocut print, inspired by the beautiful seedheads found in and around Gosforth Nature Reserve.During the session, you’ll be guided through the full process of linocut printmaking – from developing your design, to carving your block, and finally printing your design onto cards.By the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own hand-printed card to take home and share with friends and family.No previous experience is needed, just come along and enjoy trying something new in a relaxed and friendly setting.All materials will be provided and light refreshments including tea, coffee and biscuits, will be served. About the TutorKate Miller is a North East-based printmaker and the first NHSN Artist in Residence at Gosforth Nature Reserve. Inspired by time spent outdoors, her work captures both sweeping landscapes and the small, often overlooked details of the natural world.With over 30 years’ experience in printmaking, Kate specialises in linocut, a hands-on and accessible technique she loves for its tactile, expressive qualities. Her practice is rooted in observation, and she is passionate about encouraging others to slow down, look closely, and engage creatively with nature.During her residency, Kate has been exploring the reserve through walking, sketching and conversation with visitors, creating new work inspired entirely by the site.
