Our speakers
Sara Wetherill has spent 25 years in procurement but only the last 7 in the public sector. Prior to leading the procurement team at Thirteen Housing Group Sara worked in the engineering and manufacturing sectors responsible for global sourcing strategy and leading on purchasing functional excellence. Sara has managed teams based in the UK, Europe and South Africa. She also spent a 2 year secondment as a purchasing six sigma black belt leading supply chain transformation projects. Sara currently chairs the North East Procurement Forum and is the L&D lead for the recently launched National Housing Procurement Association.
Chanelle Busby is the Deputy Head of Commercial Services based in Torquay, Devon, with over 20 years of experience in local government procurement. Throughout her career, she has worked across multiple councils, leading collaborative initiatives that have delivered strategic value and improved service outcomes across the public sector.
In her current role, Chanelle is responsible for driving commercial performance and aligning operational delivery with organisational priorities.
Chanelle is well known for her passion for collaboration in procurement and is current the Chairperson for the South West Procurement Board and regional representative for the Local Governments Associations National Advisory Group for Procurement.
