Project Collage is a creative enterprise that encourages children and adults to express themselves through the mindful art of collage. Collage breaks the rules. By ripping and sticking, participants view things differently. A fashion magazine used alongside fragments of a bird magazine, lifts the everyday into the abstract absurd.

Encouraging us to see words in a similar way. Led by Kayleigh Cassidy, the workshop will include collage making activities which are used to unleash your imagination and let it go wild. Adults will work with their children creating visual art pieces that explore chosen themes. In the latter part of the workshop, attendees will use these collages as a stimulus for some free writing. What words will your mind conjure as you absorb the art work you have created together? Writing about collage is a liberating process. Will you follow a narrative or unpack your words in the abstract? There are no rights or wrongs in this workshop just come along if you want to give your imagination the space to be utterly creative. An interactive, hands-on workshop which explores the power of art and collaboration.

Writing Ability: Suitable for all writing abilities.

What to bring: Materials will be supplied however if you have any magazines, wrapping paper or old birthday cards you’d like to bring along, we welcome your contributions. Remember to wear something you don’t mind getting messy.
