Project Unity: Young Perspectives on Extremism

Edge Hill UniversityOrmskirk, England
Friday, Feb 13 from 12 pm to 2 pm GMT
Overview

Join us for a panel discussion on countering terrorism; how radicalisation can affect young people and preventing the spread of extremism.

Project Unity: Youth Perspectives on Terrorism

This event is being facilitated by Resilience in Unity: a counter extremism organisation founded by Edge Hill Alumni and terror attack survivor Travis Frain OBE. This organisation deals in matters of national and international security with particular a focus upon mitigating the societal impacts of terrorism.

This thought-provoking panel discussion on countering terrorism will feature two survivors of terror attacks and one former extremist: all with differing personal experiences of extremism and terrorism. This panel will focus on how radicalisation can affect young people and the role we can play to prevent the spread of extremism.

Through this event, we aim to foster a dialogue where youth perspectives will be at the forefront of understanding terrorism's impact and raise awareness of radicalisation as a human phenomenon via the voices of those who have had direct experience with it. Following the panel discussion, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions to the panel speakers.
