For managers, team leaders and emerging supervisors who want to build skills, confidence and a mindset to lead with compassion and clarity.

This training series will equip managers, team leaders and emerging supervisors in the homelessness and supported housing sector with the skills, confidence and mindset to lead with compassion and clarity. You will connect with peers, share good practice, and reflect on what psychologically informed management looks like day to day.


Who is this training programme for?

  • Managers in the Homelessness sector who are new to management or have received little formal training
  • Managers hoping to learn more about psychologically informed management


What will you learn?

This training programme is a 5-part series, designed to equip managers with the practical skills they need to manage with confidence, whilst encompassing a psychologically informed approach.


Delegates are expected to attend all 5 sessions:


1) Psychologically Informed Management: Your First Steps

14 April | 9.30am-1.00pm

This interactive session welcomes you into the programme, offering space to connect with peers and explore what it means to manage in the context of homelessness services. Together, we’ll unpack the unique pressures of the role, introduce psychologically informed management (PIM), and set personal intentions for growth and learning.


2) EDI: Shaping Inclusive Culture

28 April | 9.30am-4.00pm

This course is designed to help you build the confidence, insight, and practical tools to create a more inclusive, respectful, and psychologically safe team culture.

You’ll explore the impact of bias, discrimination, and workplace harm - and develop everyday strategies that foster equity, belonging, and trust.This training supports you to take meaningful action as a manager - helping all staff feel respected, understood, and able to thrive in their roles.


3) Staff Supervision Skills

19 May | 9.30am-4.00pm

This course supports you to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to lead supervision that is reflective, relational and psychologically informed - using tools and approaches that promote safety, growth and connection, helping staff feel understood, motivated, and supported to thrive.


4) Psychologically Informed Communication

23 June | 9.30am-4.00pm

Strengthen your ability to communicate with empathy, clarity and confidence - even in the most challenging situations. This practical, psychologically informed course will support you to build emotionally safe team relationships, navigate difficult conversations with care, and speak with purpose and confidence in your role - even when under pressure.


5) Stepping Forward: From Reflection to Action

14 July | 9.30am-1.00pm

In this closing session, you’ll reflect on your journey through the programme — from supervision to communication, inclusive culture and psychologically informed practice. Together, we’ll explore key takeaways, share personal insights, and create a practical action plan to take forward into your role. A chance to pause, connect and step confidently into the next chapter of your management practice.


Criteria for booking

  • You must be currently working in a management role
  • You must seek your line manager's approval for funding and attendance on the course
  • You must be committed as far as foreseeable possible to attend all scheduled course dates on the programme

By booking, you confirm that you meet and agree to all of the above terms.

Bookings close 5.00pm, 20 March 2026.

The programme is sold as a full programme of all five sessions. Sessions are not recorded. Slides will be sent electronically.
