A little bit about us:
Tucked away in the woodlands of Hampshire, The Hornbeam Hideout stands as a dynamic centre for the community. It offers a safe space where people of all ages can participate in activities designed to promote learning, personal development, and mental health and wellbeing.
We use the 6 principles of Forest School as a foundation to help us provide you a safe and inclusive outdoor space.
A typical forest school session at the Hornbeam Hideout involves plenty of space to freely play, get in touch with nature and the community surrounding you. With access to resources like hammocks, swings, climbing trees, and all sorts of tools to facilitate play, imagination can take flight. We even have animal visitors like goats, sheep, rabbits, dogs and tortoises at the site!
At sessions, there are activities laid out to be accessed if anyone chooses to do so. These can include, but are definitely not limited to:
- Chalk paint making and use
- Soil experimentation
- Den building
- Whittling, sawing and axing
- Fire lighting
- Cooking
- Potion mixing
- Animal interactions
