The word mandala means "universe." In this practice, we offer the entire universe—transformed in our imagination into a pure and beautiful world. Offering the mandala is more than a ritual gesture; it is the practice of inwardly creating a vision of a pure world, using imagination guided by wisdom. It is an act of profound spiritual creativity and intention.
Through this practice, we learn to manifest a world free from war, conflict, deception, and pain—a world we would all love to live in. We train in envisioning and offering such a world from our heart, which gradually transforms our mind and our experience of the world around us.
‘There is no such thing as a Pure Land that exists from the side of the object; the Pure Land is merely an appearance to mind’.
