Lucifer is trying to find God. Sapphire has a plan to help him. One Faustian pact later see’s this unlikely couple stretching the boundaries of Heaven, art and self-acceptance in attempt to find the truth. Highly ironic and absurdist-ly brutal, this dark, romantic comedy explores the self-torture and nihilistic pursuit of trying to find purpose in this mental world. Barnaby Tobias is a playwright from Totnes, Devon. His debut play, Fox-Light, ‘a skilfully written gem’ (The Reviews Hub) was performed at The Hope Theatre in 2022. His three-act drama, The Shadow-boxers of Glenvale, was longlisted for the prestigious Papatango award. Putrid Beauty is his second play to be performed. He’s the founder of The Marylebone Theatre’s Emerging Writers Group and runs an independent poetry press, Mysterium, based in Devon.
